Zigzagge Side Border Tutorial

This tutorial is my own creation.  Any similarity to other tutorials is coincidental.

Intermediate to Advanced

I used PSP 9

All settings will remain the same unless indicated

Supplies Needed

Sybia Filter - Zigzagge
Here
Graphic Taller than Wide.

In Materials, select light color in foreground and medium color in background.

Let's Get Started

1 - Resize image to H 400.  Duplicate twice.  Close original.  Minimize one copy.

2 - Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling - Default Setting

3 - Adjust - Blur - Gaussian - Setting 30

4 - Effects - Plug ins - Sybia - Zigzagge - Settings - 17-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

5 - Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling - Default Setting

6 - Minimize this image.  Maximize other image.

7 - Resize image to 75% - Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen

8 - Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked - 15 - Medium color

9 - Magic Wand settings - Replace, RBG, Tolerance 0, Sample Merged and Contiguous both checked,
Feather 0, Anti-Alias checked, Outside

10 - Select border.

11 - Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds - Settings - Width 4, Opacity 60, Light Color, Light from left/top

12 - Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Settings - #2, 15, 5, 2, 0, 0, color white, 315, 50, 30

13 - Selections - Select None

14 - Layers - Promote Background Layer

15 - Image - Canvas Size - Settings - Width 1280, Height 400, Top 35, Left 35, Bottom 35, Right will adjust itself.

16 - Layers - New Layer
Layers - Arrange - Send to Bottom

17 - Materials - Foreground choose blurred pattern

18 - Fill Background.  Lower opacity if desired to make background more text friendly

19 - Layers Palette, Highlight top layer.

20 - Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow  5, 5, 50, 15.  Color Black, Shadow on new layer unchecked. Repeat Drop Shadow using -5, -5

21 - Remaining on top layer, Layers - New Layer

22 - Selection tool - custom - Settings - Top 0, Left 147, Bottom 400, Right 187.

23 - Fill with medium color or your choice.

24 - Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Settings - #2, 30, 50, 8, 0, 0, 315, 50, 30

25 - Selections - Select None

26 - Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling - Check Edge and Vertical.

27 - Layers - Arrange - Move Down.
*You may have to center the ribbon behind your image using your moving tool.

28 - Layers - New Layer

29 - Add your Watermark

30 - Layers - Merge All

31 - Save as jpg with jpg optimizer at 25.
