Violin Selection Tutorial

This is what we will be making. You will need PSP.  I used v 9 but it can be done in other versions.  No outside filters are used.  Supplies include the graphic I used, the template (DualSquares.pspimage) and Gold Foil.jpg.  Extract the Gold Foil file into your patterns folder.  Another graphic can be used.

Supplies

Open your graphic and the template in PSP.

Set up your material pallette.  Set the foreground to a light color from your graphic and your background to pattern/GoldFoil.jpg

Let's get to work!

1 - Copy Graphic
2 - Highlight template.  Selections>>Select All
3 - Edit>>Paste into selection.
4 - Deselect
5 - Effects>>Texture Effects>>Mosaic-Antique
Settings:  # columns - 50, # rows - 50, tile diffusion - 70, grout width - 2, grout diffusion - 50
6 - Create new raster layer.
7 - Selections>>Load/Save selection from alpha channel>>Choose Selection 
# 1, Load.
8 - Fill with Gold Foil
9 -Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow, Settings - H&V - 3, Opacity - 100, Blur - 5,  Repeat Drop Shadow using H&V - minus 3
10 - Deselect
11 - Create new raster layer.
12 - Selections>>Load/Save selection from alpha channel>>Choose Selection 
# 2, Load.
13 - Fill with solid light color from graphic
14 - Add drop shadow same as above.
15 - Set opacity to 50
16 - Deselect
17 - Create new raster layer
18 - Selections>>Load/Save selection from alpha channel>>Choose Selection 
# 3, Load.
19 - Copy graphic
20 - Edit/Paste into selection.
21 - Add drop shadow same as above
22 -Deselect
23 - Create new raster layer.
24 - Selections>>Load/Save selection from alpha channel>>Choose Selection 
# 4, Load.
25 - Fill with gold foil.
26 - Drop Shadow same as above except change H&V to 2, then -2.
27 - Save as blank pspimage.
28 - Add text and highlight as desired.
29 - File>>jpg optimizer>>Set compression to 30..Save to desired folder.
The artist of the graphic is unknown.
