Rings Tutorial

This tutorial is strictly my own work.  Any resemblance to other tuts is coincidental.

Level - Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

All settings will remain the same unless otherwise specified.

Needed:
PSP - V9 used but other versions could be used.
Colorful graphic
Gold pattern of your choice.

Preparation:
Copy Graphic and close original
In Material Palette, choose a light color in the foreground.
Choose a medium/darker color in the background.
Set the foreground to the gold pattern.
Angle 0 - Scale 100

Header

1 - File > New > 300 x 300 Raster Background Transparent Image.

2 - Selection Tool Set to Circle
Starting in the center 150 x 150.

Draw out a circle to 275 x 275.

3 - Fill with gold pattern.

4 - Selections > Modify > Contract 8

5 - Edit > Clear

6 - Select None

7 - Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

Bevel # 2, 5, 0, 5, 0, 0, white, 315, 50, 30

8 - Activate Graphic and copy.

9 - File > New > 500 x 500

10 - Selections > Select All

11 - Edit > Paste > Paste into Selection

12 - Deselect

13 - Copy Ring Image

14 - Edit > Paste > Paste as New Layer.  Leave Centered.

15 - Layers > Duplicate

16 - With Mover tool, move to the lower right corner, not touching edge.

17 - Layers > Duplicate

18 - Image > Mirror

19 - Layers > Duplicate

20 - Image > Flip

21 - Layers > Duplicate

22 - Image > Mirror

23 - Layers > Duplicate

24 - Move to Center Top, not touching edge.

25 - Layers > Duplicate

26 - Image > Flip
Note:  Rings should be touching - See example. Additional rings can be added at the sides if desired. - See example at bottom of tut

27 - Close Bottom Layer

28 - Highlight Raster 2 - Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.

29 - Keep merged layer highlighted.

30 - Select Magic Wand - Set mode replace, match mode RGB, tolerance 0,
Sample merged & Contiguous checked, feather 0, anti alias checked, outside

31 - Click outside the rings

32 - Open raster 1 and highlight.

33 - Edit > Clear

34 - Deselect

35 - Resize too 350 x 350, Smart Size, Lock aspect ratio & Resize all layers checked.

36 - Sharpen if necessary.

37 - Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.

38 - Layers > New Raster Layer

39 - Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

40 - Fill with color not in your image.

41 - Add new layer and add your watermark.

42 - File > Export > Gif Optimizer
Check Areas that match this color.  Set to background color.  Tolerance 20.

Background:

1 -  File > New > 175 x 175

2 - Fill with light color.

3 - Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds

10, 30, Darker color, Horizontal checked.

4 - Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

Edge, Vertical, 10, 50

5 - File > Export > jpg Optimizer, set at 25
